The Canyon

Not just a place to park. A reason to stay.

Set on the rim of the Crooked River Gorge in Central Oregon's high desert.

Canyon rim living in the high desert.

The Crooked River Gorge cuts 500 feet through juniper and sagebrush, and Crooked River Ranch RV Park occupies the rim overlooking it all. You're not above a parking lot. You're parked on the edge of something real—the geological spine of Central Oregon.

This isn't new terrain. The Crooked River has worked this gorge for thousands of years. The juniper groves that surround the park are so dense they block out the sky at ground level; from your site, you're in the open, above it, able to see the river corridor, the ridges, the entire desert landscape that defines Central Oregon.

In summer, temperatures stay reasonable for this elevation. In winter, snow comes and goes quickly. Year-round, the air is alive, the light is sharp, and the horizon moves slowly.

113 sites on four loops, built for real camping.

The park divides into A, B, C, and D loops, each following the contour of the canyon rim. Full-hookup sites run up to 65 feet, with pull-throughs positioned so you can set and forget. Dry camping sites are available for those who want minimal infrastructure.

From many sites, you can see the gorge. From all of them, you're near the rim—not in a valley, not in a field. This elevation and exposure are why people come back.

Open 365 days. No seasonal closures. Winter guests get the gorge to themselves, with clear skies and no crowds.

Dark Skies

The Milky Way is visible on most nights.

No city light dome. No nearby highway glare. The canyon rim sits high enough and far enough from Bend, Sisters, and Redmond that the night sky stays dark. Summer nights, you can see the Milky Way arch across the entire southern sky. Winter is even better—clear, cold, no moisture. Bring a telescope or just bring a chair.

More than a place to sleep.

An 18-hole golf course runs along the park, with the first tee 200 feet from your site. Local restaurants and bars serve craft beer and food a short walk or drive away. Courts and a pool are available to guests. This isn't RV-park theater. It's a working community.

Guests who come back.

Some guests book a week and stay twelve days. Some book a winter month and stay three. Some have been coming back every summer for generations.

This is a place that people extend. They come back. They invite friends. They sit out in the evening and watch the light leave the gorge, and they decide to stay.
